ACTION: Tell City Council to Prioritize Road Safety in Logan Square


Send an email today to the office of 5th District Councilmember Young asking for introduction of two critical road safety bills for the Logan Square Area.


1. A bike lane on 16th Street (Market St to JFK Blvd).

  • This fills a gap in the bike lane network, connecting the bike lanes on Market Street with JFK and Ben Franklin Parkway.
  • The proposal would turn one of four vehicle travel lanes into a bike lane.
  • Logan Square Neighborhood Association supports this change.

2. A red-light camera at 22nd Street and the Ben Franklin Parkway.

  • This has been studied and recommended by the Philadelphia Parking Authority.
  • Council requested a hold on that location, according to this 2025 PPA report.


It's up to the city to make sure all road users can travel safely, and these bills would help residents and travelers in the 5th Council District.
