Tell Harrisburg Leaders: Legalize Parking Protected Bike Lanes
Send a message to the PA Senate and House Leadership demanding they legalize parking-protected bike lanes as part of their first 100 days in power.
NOW is the time to ask.
There is new leadership in Harrisburg, and these lawmakers are currently setting their priorities for the upcoming session.

What are parking-protected bike lanes?
It’s a bike lane that’s between the curb and a row of parked cars, so the parked cars act as a barrier between people on bikes and moving traffic. Philadelphia has them in over a dozen pilot corridors and on city-owned streets, where they’ve reduced crashes and given people a safe, comfortable place to ride.
What’s the problem?
These lanes can’t be built on state-owned roads, which include our busiest and most dangerous streets. This is due to a technicality in the PA Vehicle Code that requires cars to park within 12 inches of the curb, and we need Harrisburg to amend this.
This legislation has passed the House with broad bipartisan support year after year since 2018, only to stall in the Senate every time.
